Electra's Religion
Electra is the Lensmoorian Goddess of Exploration and Discovery. Her faith is neutral-aligned. The high clergy of Electra wear a compass on a chain, the clergy wear an iron key on a chain and all others wear a trio of gears. These things represent what matters most to Electra, building new contraptions and discovering new things.
The Goddess is often found covered in soot from working in Her workshop above the Academy of Magic and Science. This Academy serves as Her temple, and Her followers have a small area within it. The entire complex is part of the Lensmoor University grounds, and one can exit the University proper straight into the Academy. Electra's love of inventing, building and discovering new things earned Her the nickname “The Inventor” when She was still a young demigoddess; this nickname has followed Her into Her Godhood.
Electra favors a trio of three metals - copper, gold and silver - for the things She makes for Herself and Her following. Each metal has its own properties that lend themselves to the various things She tries to inspire in Her following. A crafting questmaster resides in one of the towers to help students learn.
Her constant companion is Her mechbot, Jane. Electra built Jane from a pile of scrap metal, and then enchanted it with Divine energy to make it come 'alive'. Jane helps ferry mortals to and from the Goddess should She ever require their presence quickly.
Helpfile
Those whose hearts are swayed by the thrill of discovery, who seek secrets in places new and old, who push the limits of machinery and seek new scientific discoveries…
…these are the hearts that find their way to Electra.
Electra's followers range from scientists to wizards, cartographers, navigators and inventors. The pursuit of knowledge that results in new discoveries excites Her, and She can often be found with soot on Her freckled face.
The advancement of new ideas and the creation of machines is neither inherently good or evil, thus the following of Electra walks a neutral path. It would be a mistake to believe this to mean inaction, as the very nature of discovery is action. Electra seeks to build the understanding of the world we know through both discovering its past and exploring its future.
Electra encourages the testing and development of theories and experimentation to discover if they are correct. She is the spark that lights the midnight oil, so to speak, guiding research anywhere and everywhere.
Background
Long ago there were two sisters, demigoddesses within the heavens. One of them was chosen to be the embodiment of Enlightenment, and she became the Goddess Eurekah.
The other, Electra, was free to choose her own path. And choose she did. She chose to learn *everything*.
While the toll of becoming a Goddess wore on Eurekah and eventually She disappeared, Electra contnued to learn and create. She sought magic from every nook and cranny on Lensmoor and Antrippa, scouring for neat inventions and scientific theories that she hadn't yet discovered. And then it happened. The strange portal opened.
Electra watched, fascinated, as the scene played out and Devlin was returned to his body. This was magic she needed to know. She constructed an Academy, and set about discovering how to siphon enough magic to teleport the entire thing into Lensmoor's future, where the portal had come from.
Despite her best efforts, she could not replicate the portal.
Then, the idea came to her. Once her sister's presence had waned, it was up to her to take her place. Summoning her courage, she focused on what remained of Enlightenment.
As she became connected to her sister for the last time, Electra transformed from demigoddess to full goddess, and the energy spike was enough to power her portal.
Thus Electra, Goddess of Exploration and Discovery, arrived with Her Academy in tow, with a loud crash.
Personality
There is little that phases Electra, including failure. To her, failing is still learning. She is usually cheerful as long as some sort of discovery is taking place.
What matters to Electra is learning all there is to know and then applying that knowledge to the world through use of magic and machines. She doesn't really care about wars except where it applies to theory and has the possibility to advance creativity.
She loves mortals with imagination and is cross with those who don't seem to have a love of learning.
